Dear colleagues and friends,

As we are well into 2017, your CAIW Board of Officers and Directors continues its campaign to modernize CAIW by moving it forward, at a time when its very existence may be tested by the current socio-economic climate as well as the realities of the Insurance Industry.

Indeed, the year began with a very productive Midterm Meeting held in Montreal, in January. Assembled at a new venue for close to 48 hours, all attendees came ready and willing to discuss on-going business. Their enthusiasm, dedication and passion for both their individual association and CAIW were without equal. Everyone welcomed the challenge to go beyond the day-to-day operations in search of answers to sometimes difficult questions, as well seeking new approaches to CAIW’s longstanding core missions: Education, Networking and Personal Growth. I can honestly say, we have been listening to you and we are making strides in the right direction. We now look to you for support. Speak with your local Director, attend meetings and provide your valuable feedback. This will allow for an improved CAIW as well as local chapters!

I furthermore take this opportunity to reiterate my invitation that you implicate yourselves in your local association and CAIW. Remarkable events are put together on a regular basis, at minimal cost to you, with so much to gain from. Why not take advantage? In fact, I was privileged to attend Tri-Conference in the fall, an amazing event organised by three of our local associations: Manitoba Association of Insurance Professionals, Northwestern Ontario Insurance Professionals Association and Insurance Women’s Association of Western Manitoba. I must highlight the quality of the conference and its speakers.

Just recently, I was also honored to attend the Nova Scotia Insurance Women’s Association Wine and Cheese, yet another example of an extraordinary event organised by one of our local associations. Considered the largest Insurance affair in Atlantic Canada, it gathered hundreds. It was an amazing opportunity to meet professionals from the various sectors of the Industry.

My sincerest thanks to these associations for their warm welcome. More importantly, congratulations to all the volunteer organisers that put together such phenomenal events! Look at what is going on locally and nationally. I believe you will be impressed by what we are achieving and I remain confident about our potential to accomplish more!

Yours in fellowship,

Panagiota Kalantzis,
CAIW President
